Best Settings for OBS Gaming
I'm running the game on a GTX OC and shadowplay can hit frames higher than 60fps for the output file. But OBS can't for some reason, but the audio options on Shadowplay is below my target quality, hence I can't use shadowplay. I need to be able to record at least 2 audio-tracks on my output file. I've also tried using Lossless and VBR with no difference what so ever. Any help would be much appreciated! Stefz New Member. I have the same problemgood fps while gamingbut the output sucks hard.
Mustafa Yaman New Member. Try Display Capture instead of Game Capture. Display Capture is always way worse for me.Forums New posts Search forums. What's new New posts New resources New profile posts Latest activity. Resources Latest reviews Search resources.
OBS specs Quality: Preset: Veryfast Bitrate-Buffer: 30fps Audio ACC bit X res This settings seems to work pretty good, but when im streaming, my in-game performance is pissing me off, I've tried a bunch of tutorials, but my overall fps drops to aboutat it's best, with some laggy movements, doesn't feel natural, with DXtory or the built-in game capture, if you guys know this game, definitely knows its playable, but terrible for a player who has like 8 years playing counter-strike still a noob by the way ;D.
What I can do to at least minimize the FPS drops? Krazy Town drunk Forum Moderator. Not much with the stable build, unfortunately. That laptop GPU is holding you back a bit. You'll nee to have more bitrate for the sameish quality, but it should not impact your game performance as much. Krazy said:. Rdgnik said:. You should leave preset at "veryfast" because it will use much less cpu and quality still be almost the same if you use kbps bitrate.
It's a very powerful program, no doubt. The only potential downside is the steep learning curve. Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. This guide will help you understand the basics of professional streaming so that you can configure OBS for your particular live streaming setup. The success of your live stream is directly influenced by the video quality, and this is where the OBS bitrate comes in. If you get it wrong, you will experience increased buffering or a very low-quality stream.
NVIDIA NVENC OBS Guide
For live streaming, we recommend an ideal upload speed of 5Mbps kbps. This is enough to stream at your desired resolution, including p at 30 fps and p at 60fps. The minimum upload speed for smooth streaming with good quality is 3Mbps kbps.
For example, if you choose a video bitrate of kbps and an audio bitrate of kbps, your upload speed will need to be at least The best OBS video bitrate settings depend on your upload speed. By default, the bitrate is set to which falls somewhere near the middle of the scale. Choosing a video bitrate for your live stream depends on what you want to achieve.
If you want a pixel-perfect video production, then try to push your video bitrate to the maximum. Now, on to the second part of your stream, the audio.
As a rule of thumb, the lower the bitrate, the more compressed the sound will be. This essentially takes away subtle instrument and vocal sounds in the background that may be difficult to hear, but affect the overall quality. Just like with streaming video, the higher the streaming audio bitrate, the clearer the sound will be. The ideal audio bitrate for your live stream depends on various factors such as your internet connection and microphone, to name a few. If your internet connection is slow or sound quality is not your top priority, go for low-quality audio.
Your audio bitrate in OBS is affected by the frames per second, the bandwidth and the processing power of your system. So, while these tables do depict realistic figures, your actual bitrates may vary. For instance, an HD broadcast operating on a p may require a total bitrate as high as kbps. Likewise, the OBS bitrate for a p 60fps stream can go as high as 14, kbps. In short, there is no definite formula to find the best OBS stream settings, but the higher the quality, the higher the bitrate.
The easiest way to figure out the right settings for you is to do several test streams. Getting your OBS stream settings right is as much an art as it is a science. There are so many variables that affect the quality of the streaming media! It allows you to calculate the best resolution or frame rate for a predefined bitrate. When you get comfortable with the OBS bitrates, you can explore advanced options to tweak and fine-tune the live streaming experience even further.
There are several guides on YouTube that go in great detail about the subject. The keyframes in a streaming video are complete images unlike the rest of the frames. Regular frames only contain data about what has changed since the last keyframe was captured. When it comes to live streams, the keyframe interval basically means the time a viewer will require to catch up to the ongoing broadcast.
For example, if the keyframe interval is 2 seconds, then a viewer who just joined in will have to wait for 2 seconds before the feed is displayed. The encoder preset allows you to dictate how much CPU computing power you want to dedicate to video encoding.Twitch has features like recording live videos, or we can say, it is a live video streaming platform.
Every day there are newcomers from all around the world who join in to try their luck. Twitch is an amazing source of broadcasting, but it has some issues that you need to figure out before you are good to go, and in this article, I will show you how you can solve these issues by bringing the best OBS settings for Twitch to you.
If you have done your homework, you must already be knowing about OBS. If not, let me give a quick overview. Any online video platform being used to stream videos requires software to encode the videos in a proper format so you can put them up for streaming. Now lets come to the main part, how to configure OBS in the best way possible.
Just follow our step by step process and you will end up having the best OBS Settings for your twitch or YouTube streaming. Start the OBS studio after the installation has finished.
If you already have configured OBS before but want best settings to stream HD videos in p 60Fps then you need to tweak your settings. Follow all the settings given below as will guide you on how you can stream on Twitch using OBS. Open the OBS Studio and look at the bottom-right corner. You will find section Settings there, click on the settings button. Click on the recording tab. This brings up a list of options. Base Canvas Resolution is the resolution of your screen.
This tells the screen size in pixels in which you want to record. You can set to any desired resolution. To manually enter you need to type the width and height as per your choice. Output Scaled Resolution this is the resolution of the recorded video. But reality is that technology gets old fast, and almost every streamer can make things easier on their PC. Use your Graphics Card for Encoding. Load your Overlay from a single Browser Source. StreamElements takes everything possible and puts it all into one single browser source.
Loading your overlay from a single source means that your CPU only has to load one source instead of several, which will reduce CPU usage by a lot. Watch our video guide. Adjust Video Bitrate. The bitrate you are able to upload depends on your Internet upload, I upload at Kilobits myself equivalent of 3. If you lower the number in this field you should notice that it uses marginally less CPU usage, I do not recommend going any lower than Kilobites, this will cause pixelation in your stream quality.
Advanced Encoder Settings. You will need to click Enable Advanced Encoder Settings to access them, then you will see the hidden options available to you. You can enforce your upload bitrate with the limit you set, this means that you will not upload past a certain amount above your desired bitrate.
The Encoder Preset option sets is simply a case of the higher the selected option means the less CPU usage. Be mindful of the fact that people still need to download this data. Downscaling your resolution. If you downscale your resolution down from say p to p it means that your CPU only has to encode your stream at p, which is only half the pixels. Obviously not everybody has a p monitor but the process is relatively the same regardless of your monitor resolution.
Selecting a Downscale Filter. The option called Downscale Filter will decide how you choose to downscale your resolution if you choose to do this. The top option is Bilinear and it is the best option for streaming on a less powerful computer.
The information in the brackets tells you that you may experience some instances of blur if scaling with this filter, although as somebody who downscales from p to p myself with this very same downscale filter I notice no blur, so this may require some testing.

For those that are a bit more technically savvy, today we are going to discuss some of the settings you can adjust within Streamlabs OBS to help ensure optimal quality. Having settings that are too high for your computer's hardware can cause performance issues for your live stream.
To adjust these settings, open Streamlabs OBS and click on the settings cog in the lower left-hand corner. Picking the encoder that works best for you depends on a few factors.
However, the advantage is a decreased load on your CPU. If you have a particularly powerful GPU or a dedicated streaming PC, consider using a hardware encoder. The output of your video resolution can have a significant impact on the quality of your live stream and the performance of Streamlabs OBS. For example, streaming at p vs p will double the number of pixels, meaning your computer will be using more resources.
You can leave the base canvas resolution as x since, in most cases, that is the standard size of the content you are streaming. It is, however, recommended to lower the Output Scaled Resolution since streaming in p can have a significant impact on your CPU.
We recommend lowering the Output Scaled Resolution to x for a good balance between performance and quality. The usage preset refers to how fast the CPU encodes video. The faster it encodes, the less CPU it uses. This feature allows our software to automatically adjusts your bitrate based on network conditions to prevent dropping frames. Having a static bitrate can cause frames to drop because if your connection is unable to keep up, it will drop frames to improve the stability of your stream and minimize latency.
